I Know!!!

It's been a while...

So no excuses I just haven't updated.

Updates:

Since the 1st day of school I have been busy at my two part time jobs. I have accepted a Assistant position with the Children's Ministry Team at our Church . Once things have gotten up & rolling the hours are getting more regular at 10-20 hours a week. Mainly Tuesday & Thursday (8:45-3:30 ish), then some or all the services on the weekends. This started out being a everyday all day while the kids were in school & when I wasn't working at the preschool.

I also accepted a position at the Kids Connection Preschool in Altoona as an Teacher's Assistant that job is Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings from 8:45-11:45 am.

I still clean a friend's house every other Tuesday morning (At which I start my work at little later than usual) & I am able to make it home around lunch time to let out the Dogs & grab something to eat. No excuses are being made for me not blogging except that I have been a little busy.

Emmerysn is doing great in 2nd grade, she has many friends old & new that she enjoys spending time with. Now working on her 1st Science project (details will follow). She has dance with Just for Kix every Tuesday night from 6 - 7:30 pm.

Bryceton loves Kindergarten & is doing very well. He enjoys his teacher & has made many new friends. He played soccer this past October which he excelled in & can't wait to play again in the Spring.

Matt still keeping busy at work, but also able to get some hunting in his schedule.

If y get a Christmas letter from me don't be surprised if you feel like your having "De Javu" since I will be going over all this plus more of this past year * just wanted to get back into this website.

1st day of Kindergaten

A good friend just forwarded this to me since Bryceton will be heading to Kindergarten tomorrow & I thought it was very cute.
The First Day of Kindergarten
I used to be so little, but not anymore,
Tomorrow I'll get up and walk out the door.
I'm going to Kindergarten-it's the first time for me.
It's great to be big, but I'm scared as can be.
My tummy's in knots. You want to know why?
I'm thinking that maybe, just maybe I'll cry.
When Mom leaves the school and I'm there alone,
I'm thinking that maybe I'll want to go home.
But wait - Mommy said I'll play lots of games,
And meet lots of friends - I can learn all their names.
The first day of Kindergarten, oh there's so much to do!
There's painting and books and a big playground too!
I used to be little, but not anymore.
Tomorrow I'll get up and walk out the door.
I'm going to Kindergarten -
it's my first day, you see.
It's great to be big!
I'm so glad that I'm me.

2nd Grade here she comes

School bag in hand, shes so ready to go.

This morning we got back into the school thing.

Emmersyn's alarm went off at 6:45 am & the pancakes were already on the griddle. Bryceton got up shortly after the pancakes were ready. After breakfast, a shower & getting dressed, we styled her hair & then it was time for pictures.
We were going to ride our bikes this morning, but the chain had fallen off mine & I didn't have time to fix it so she decided to ride the bus (which was waiting down the street). I can't believe how fast shes growing up.

Summertime

Since summertime is coming to a close I figured I should get some pictures posted

session 1: June 8-19

Session 2: July 13-24

Both kids did two sessions of swim lessons this summer one in June & the other in July. Of course this year they were both on very cool two week stretches. I felt bad sitting in sweats & a sweatshirt telling them to keep moving around to stay warm. I now know that Bryceton is like me, it has to be VERY warm and sunny for him to enjoy the swimming in the pool

The both kids survived the cold mornings & the both ended the session by jumping off the diving board into the deep end.

Camping

Last weekend we went camping with two other families (Melissa, Eddy & their girls & Heidi, Burt & their boys). We camped about 1/2 from home & we were able to set up our tent on Thursday night that way we could just enjoy Friday night. Once we got there we had grilled dinner & let the kids run around, ride there bikes & play. We had a camp site that was right next to the playground & the bathrooms so what more could you want.
Emmersyn was also surprised to see one of her (pre)school friends was camping right around the campground. So she & Tylar, along with Rylie where here there & everywhere on their bikes. While Bryceton, Tayden (who hung out with both the boys & the bigger girls), Elijah & Isiah all road their bikes around & played.
Saturday was great, the weather was in the low to mid 70's & overcast. Which made camping very enjoyable. We just mainly sat around camp talking, & having fun. On Saturday evening is when we planned to have our big meal which was Steaks, potatoes, garlic green beans, corn on the cob, salad & bread. We ate like kings & everything was wonderful (Thanks Matt for cooking all the food over the open fire). After that we sat around until it got dark enough for the kids to do some sparklers & then we also had made room for some s'mores.

By 10 o'clock we parents put all six kids to bed that way we could enjoy the last night camping. Early on the decision was made that no one was taking any firewood home with them. So Matt & Eddy decided that this was the time to get it all burned up. We were having a lot of fun just talking a laughing (thanks Heidi). At times the fire was taller than Matt was & when it started dieing down the guys went looking around for any more twigs or branches to throw on it. Around 3:30 am we decided to call it a night & head to bed since we did have to pack everything up in the morning.
Can't wait until another camping trip or bonfire.

10 years ago today....

Matt & I said "I Do" about the same time that we became Aunt & Uncle for the 1st time.

Time flies when your having fun... 10 years, 2 kids, 2 dogs, 2nd house later & we still love each other as much as we did back then (at least most of the time).

We have been through so many adventures together, made many great memories & plan to make so many more.
Matthias, Emmersyn & Bryceton

Matthias "Happy 10th Birthday", you were such a wonderful surprise on our wedding day & I am so happy to share this day with you. I hope you have a great day. We love you!

A day at the beach

Here are some pics from when we went to Big Creek beach north of Des Moines.

It was a beautiful day & sitting in the sun felt great.
We made a small sand castle & the kids took turns getting buried in the sand.

The water wasn't to bad either, but I am still not a big pond swimmer (I like to see whats at my feet). I did get in the water with the kids & we all had a lot of fun

We all cant wait until we have another day at the beach.

Happy 4th of July

I wanted to send you all a "Happy 4th of July"

So far this holiday weekend we have watched fireworks (More to come tonight, too), watched a two hour parade & visited Lindsay's family in the ICU waiting room. Tonight we will make our way to two parties & will have a fund time with friends.

I hope you are all able to spend your holiday close with the ones you love (even if it is not how you planned it).
Have a very safe holiday.
